Who Do YOU Want To See?Hello,
As stated before, as soon as things really get going I am going to get some Special Celebrity Guests to come in for sessions. You can ask them questions about them, their magic, or just talk to them about magic in general.
I was going to leave it to be a surprise guest, but then I thought that I should ask YOU who you would like to see come in. I will do my best to get the person at some time soon. But let's hear who you want to come in and I will get the easily obtainable out of them to come in first.
Let me know!

You'll be my best friend forever if you can get Derren Brown or Gregory Wilson in here. Work some magic and make it happen!

I must agree DERREN BROWN all the way
Or of course Jay Sankey - a good person to come to MC since he is a devoted magician/illusion artist could give some valuable advice and tips
Sam.

Yeah, like it'll actually happen. Haha - it's worth dreaming about though isn't it? Now imagine getting to meet him...I'm not sure I can handle the depressing thought that I'll likely never get to meet him. Ah well.

Michael Kras

I will try both Greg Wilson and Derren Brown. It's certainly not for sure, but I will do my best.
Any more requests?

I would seriously wait until there's at least 100 registered users before contacting guys that are as famous/busy as Wilson and Brown. They aren't going to be interested in wasting time with 20 random kids. As you'll probably only get one chance convincing guys like that to come here, I would hold off until this forum really takes off. Just my advice.
|
Michael Kras
|
Yes, that's exactly what I am doing. But don't worry about waiting too long, members are coming in at a quick rate. However, seeing as it may take a long time to get someone like Derren Brown in I thought it woiuld be suitable to post this now. Also, I am looking for a bunch of suggestions.

I agree people like Derren Brown will need to be highly convinced and need a lot of time in advance as he is always doing Television shows.
i would also love to see Paul Daniels

Well, seeing as Derren Brown would be near impossible to get, I can try Greg Wilson. Also, please select your favourite from the bottom list (all of these are people I have connections to):
Lee Asher
Nate Kranzo
Aaron Fisher
Michael Weber
Jason Palter
Steve Fearson
Sean Fields

Don't worry, no one expects you to actually get Derren. In response to all of those names, I genuinly don't follow any of them. I do hear lots of good things about Nate Kranzo though.

JCMMagic

Wayne Houchin!
You have connections to him!
|
Michael Kras
|
Sure, why not? I could try him!
We are almost halfway to a special guest, so spread the word about Magicanada!
|
KidMagic
|
Wayne Houchin would be a great magician to get on here and talk about magic! If there is anyone who knows a thing or two about creating magic it would be him and he could give us a few pointers. Well of course Lee asher and and all the other magicians who have created a few great tricks! But any of these magicians would be great to have on the site!
Magically yours,
KidMagic

Simon Lovell. Definatly Simon Lovell. I think he would truly appreciate... nay, he would be honored to be a part of this forum.

Adam's kidding. Pay no attention to that post.

Last I checked Houchin hasn't truely created anything. The only effects of his I've seen where all drawn from older effects or directly copied.
Asher and Krazco would be the most likely candidates.

Liam

is this ever gunna happen?
|
BrianMillerMagic

Extremely unlikely that a big name in magic is going to make a guest appearance on a forum with less than 50 members. Don't hold your breath.
|
Michael Kras
|
When our member amount doubles, I will get some big names in! All the more reason to tell your magi friends!
|
Liam
|
only 39 more members!
|
Michael Kras
|
Make that 38! New member today!

Michael Kras

We are 15 members away from a special guest session! Here are the guys to vote on again.
Lee Asher
Aaron Fisher
Wayne Houchin
Jason Palter
Richard Sanders
Jay Sankey (although only for a day or two)
Nathan Kranzo
Tyler Wilson
James Biss
POSSIBLY Joshua Jay
|
teddy
|
Wayne Houchin or Jay Sankey would be awesome!
|
BrianMillerMagic
|
If you can pull Sankey, Sanders, or Houchin, that would be awesome. Can't imagine for the life of me how you would do that. I could ask Jay actually, but he's such a busy guy I wouldn't want to bother him.
|
Michael Kras
|
Yes, Jay is extremely busy... so for me to get him, it would probably only be for a day or so.
|
Liam
|
so basically its just getting one of them to join the forum so we can talk to them?
|
sam_mccully
|
yeah Jay Sankey would be wicked even for a day or so. He could give some real valuable advice/tips. And yes, they would sign up as a user (supposing thats the way Micheal would like to organise it) then we could ask them questions and he would talk about how he got into the art. A great way to gain experience and to find out how the best of the best do it

Mike Webber.
Juan Tamariz.
Eugene Burger.
Those are three people, who are still living, who I would love to chat with. There are also some NON magicians I would love to speak with about art, motivation, creativity, etc.
Ben
p.s.
For those that don't know, Joshua Jay will be doing a workshop at my house tonight, and the MAJORITY of the guys on the list you posted are scheduled, if they can make it, to make an appearence.
So if you want to learn some KICK ASS magic, and meet some kick ass people... call me.

Juan Tamarix would be darn near impossible... plus I'm not sure how much english he really knows.
Michael Weber or Eugene Burger would be amazing, I agree.

So is this actually ever gonna happen?

Juan speaks great English. And, it's far from impossible- I have his number on my phone, so he is easily reachable. Also, Teller is a GREAT writer. Wouldn't mind seeing him answer a few question!
Webber, on the other hand... lol.
That being said...
Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think the idea is a workable one right now. You only have about 7 active members, and most of them are under 15 (Liam, Teddy, Reuben, you...).
You need to build up a larger database. If you pm me I have a few ideas.

I shouldn't have made "under 15" sound like it is something bad.
It isn't.

BEN I AM OFFICIALLY 15 NOW!
I'm in grade ten, just have a late birthday

I'm also 15 Ben! Gosh!
Weber I could definitely do... I have connections with him. We met in the summer and I'm sure I could talk to him in the future.
|
Liam

Geez ben, i think my posts make it pretty clear that i am practically 16.... psh
and micheal, why dont you just invite these people to join and post casually like we do. Maybe the fact that it is a small forum would actually increase the odds of them joining for fun because they would be sent a million pms
|
teddy
|
Ha ha, I guess I'm the only one here who's under 15... (I'm 14, grade 9.)
|
Ben Train

Mike.
If that's true, get Webber. I'd be in debt.
Ben
|
Michael Kras
|
It is definitely true.
Once we get some more active members, I'll ask someone to come... perhaps Weber, one of today's leading mentalists and one of the kings of impromptu magic.
|
Ben Train
|
Sounds great Mike.
But, and don't take this the wrong way, I would bet big money that you will NOT be able to get Webber to come on here for a serious discussion.
BIG money.
|
Reuben The Great
|
And how much money are we talking here Ben?
I haven't made any contributions to the list of people who we should invite here, but I think Dai Vernon would be a great discussion person for us. Something about his personality.
Mike, invtie away.

David Ben is one of the foremost Vernon experts. Vernon, I'm sure you know Reuben, is deceased.
