TransformationI have what I believe to be an amazing effect.
There's one problem - I don't have a method.
I want to make a gimmickless way to transform one small object into another (i.e. match into a toothpick, ring into coin, etc.). There's already the complicated, gimmicked version of a shimmed object and a Raven or M5, but I want an impromptu slight that isn't obvious.
Any ideas?

a shuttle pass?

I guess I didn't explain clearly enough.
I don't want to make up a transfer. I want to show an object, wave my hand over it (or shake it without cover), and have it visually turn into something else. Maybe it would be better to come up with a gimmick, but I keep drawing blanks. I can't thing of any possible methods besides replacing the object under cover and ditching it.

well the effect you discribed would be very tough without a gimmick.
you would need to perform some type of switch during the wave

I have something like this which I came up with about a year ago. It does involve a gimmick but it requires no construction and is incredibly simple. I took the videos off of youtube because some guy reverse engineered it then started making out he'd invented it. Fortunately, loads of people knew that I was the originator and he was eventually forced to take down his video.
I have only really done it with coins, but it could certainly work with some other small items (with certain limitations).
If you would like to see a video, PM me and tell me your youtube username. the video is still there, but it is private, so I'll have to add you to the allow list. If you like the look of it, I might consider explaining the principle via PM, providing you agree to keep the secret to yourself, only perform it for laymen (not magicians), and not put any videos of it online.

Perhaps a unique method of sleeving would be a good idea?

you would need quite the skill to pull that off mike...

Thanks Joe, and Michael, how would one do that? It seems overly difficult.
I think the problem is that all of us are thinking inside the box, with methods already used. There's got to be a way to do this!

maybe some little "transformers" like gimmick, where it looks like one thing but with a few folds it looks like something else?

Turn one small object into another without a fslse transfer or gimmick.

There are plenty of methods out there for this and it would be extremely difficult to find a new one unless the use of a gimmick was employed.
