Three Card HoudiniHere is a review of Three Card Houdini. Not that many people know about this relatively new release, so I'd like to make people aware of it. Bill Butski is a close friend of mine, and just a fantastic magician. He's finally started releasing a few of his original effects after all these years, and this one in particular is just great.
Product Description:
You display three full color cards...two handcuff cards and one with the great Houdini. No matter where Houdini is placed he escapes the cuffs. For the finale, Houdini and the cuffs are placed into a normal card box and, in the blink of an eye, Houdini free's himself from within!
This clever effect combines many great ideas into one amazing and fun presentation!
All can be examined in before and after the effect!
Easy to do!
Includes instructional DVD!
This is perfect for kids and adult audiences and it's a bargain for the price!
Price: $14.95
My Review on Elmwood Magic:
Three Card Houdini is yet another cute, simple, and crowd pleasing trick from Bill Butski. A beginning card handler could learn this routine with no trouble whatsoever, and it plays to all ages. It is a perfect "packet trick" for table hopping in that it has a story of its own and though it is technically a card trick, the audience will not see it as one. The cards are beautifully made, the DVD is shot very well, and the routine is thouroughly explained in detail. You will not be dissapointed by Three Card Houdini.
Additional thoughts: I use this at least once or twice a night in strolling situations for young children. You can give something of a brief history lesson about Houdini, and then go into this routine that, as I said, will not seem like a card trick. While young children would not be able to follow a traditional three card monte type effect, they will have no trouble following Three Card Houdini. For $15, you can't go wrong.
