Think Inside the Box

Think Inside the Box
By Dustin Baker

Wouldn’t you like to reduce the amount of junk you carry around? Would you like to have an entire magic act inside a single card box? Well now you can.
No. This isn’t another box-based card reveal! We’re turning the card box into a magical weapon for your arsenal! Easy to carry, easy to conceal, and easy to adapt to your own routines.

Effects Taught:
Blank Deck Flourish
A Short Ambitious Card Routine
The Biddle Trick
Ultimate Match
Ambitious Card to Box

Concepts Explained:
Stock Loading - Add a card to the top of the deck using this little feature.
Stock Removal - Use the same concept but in reverse.
Extradition - Remove a desired card from the deck, after it’s been boxed and placed in your pocket.
U.M.S. - The Undetectable Marking System allows you to locate pre-selected cards simply by spreading the deck in your hands (how could it be more natural?).

What You Get:
Instructions on performance and execution of the effects, Several Cards prepped for the U.M.S., and a pre-made gimmick to add to your own card box.

I may be making a DVD for it instead of printed instructions, but the whole thing should be ready for market by June.

Thoughts?

Sounds like an awesome idea!

I'll begin shooting the DVD within the next few days. I need to get an okay from the Sankey camp to mention one of his effects on the DVD - but other than that, it's ready to go.

You don't need permission to "Mention" someone else's work, only if you are going to explain it at any level.  Jay's a great, easy going guy; if he likes what you're working on and the fact that you've proven a bit of integrity, he may prove a very helpful ally  Wink

I've been told that Jay regularly gives permission to include his work in DVDs and such.

I know I don't need permission to "mention" it in most cases. I'm going to show the "Paperclipped" set-up as well as a performance to explain how it flows into one of the given routines - I figured I should get permission if I'm using it that much.

In an attempt to keep costs at a minimum, I've opted not to include a full deck of cards. This will easy materials and shipping costs. Also I'm going to include an easy to install add-on for pre-existing boxes instead of including a fully prepped-box.

Parts of the description have been changed (bold type where changed).

I'm going out to get some of the performance footage today.

Sounds awesome! If there will be a demo please send us the link as soon as it's up! I am eager to see this, it sounds very interesting.

The demo is what I was shooting today. I didn't get ALL the footage I need, but I got quite a bit.

Here's the first Demo. I'll be making several different ones before the DVD is released.

Since no-one else wants to say it, Yes I know the demo stinks. All this one is meant to do is let people know that the DVD is being made - the next DEMO will focus on showing the effects.
