Sweeney Todd

After months of eagerly waiting, I finally went to see this film and actually, just got back from it. All I can say is "Unbelievable!!! A truly astounding film. Depp and Carter really bring new life to the two lead roles, and the music as well as the visual effects are stunning. Go see this now!

Any more thoughts?

I've been dying to see it!  I think I'm going on Sunday.  I'll report back with my thoughts afterwards.
Michael Kras

Did you see it yet Brian? Thoughts?
BrianMillerMagic

I have still not seen it, but soon!  I'm waiting for a certain friend to return to Buffalo and then I'll see it with her next week.

Excellent, please give us a full report.

FINALLY!  Saw Sweeney Todd tonight and I am absolutely ecstatic.  It was brilliant!  Johnny Depp had a beautiful singing voice; it was a joy to see a baritone such as myself with a lead male role in a musical, instead of a typical tenor.  The entire cast's acting was great, the movie was chilling, and I have very little more to say about it.  Perfect.

Exactly my thoughts. Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were fantastic in their roles, and the entire movie was very well directed, and extremely creative. The scene during the opening credits comes to mind.

The Critics:
Wow, now we know that Johnny Depp can sing!

My thoughts:
Great. . . could he stop acting then?

Ouch man!  I have to admit that I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan.

As am I... he tackles every role and gives it his all. Think about it.. all of his roles are so different, but he performs them all so seamlessly! I was shocked by his performance in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

Interestingly enough, his Willy Wonka character was the only role I've ever disliked him in.  For me you just can't change Gene Wilder's portrayal of Willy Wonka.

Willy Wonka
Jack Sparrow
Sweeny Todd

I don't think I've seen a role of his I've liked.
