Poster ProductionHow about THIS for an effect?
A person comes out holding a long paper tube, and she unrolls it revealing an advertisement for the magic show with a lifesize photo of the magician on the front. It is hung up on a wall, and after the assistant leaves the stage the magician visually pops out of the poster, leaving a blank spot behind!
Any ideas at a method? Extra props are acceptable.

I'm fairly confident it's been done.
It's not difficult, it's just a pain in the butt to get the logistics right.
PS, you WILL need cover of some kind to facilitate a switch from your poster to the blank - even if it's only for a second.

I think Lance Burton does a similar production. Not a poster, but a painting of a generic (Hermann-esque) magician.
