No Country For Old Men

The new mvoei by the Coen Brothers, who directed Fargo. This movie has been called a masterpiece... I will be seeing it in about an hour.

Any thoughts? Anyone else seen it or looking to see it?

Just got back from it... all I have to say is WOW, the Coens are geniuses. The ending ****ed a lot of people off though. But not myself, as I know that the ending they were looking for just wasn't life. The movie was a bloody, gory work of art.

The ending was a very open one... all the main character's dead except for the psycho killer and the one man who could stop it all. The sheriff, who just retired. We expected him to come out of retirement and stop the killer, but that just isn't life. That would have been very much a deus ex machina ending, and not real at all. So no, the movie ended with the retired cop talking to his wife in the morning. Then the screen went black, the credits rolled, people were confused, and I smiled. End of masterpiece.
