Magic Using Only Borrowed Objects

I love performing for people, especially around school... and I also especially love doing magic using only objects that I have borrowed from spectators. In some cases, it can greatly increase your magic's impact as well as totally cancel out any possibility of using gimmicks.

What are your views on this topic? Any specific opinions based on impact, practicality, jazzing, etc? What are your favourite effects in this category?

For me, a good Coin and Pen routine fits the bill... two items so easily found in school. For starters, I use a Striking Vanish handling and for my final phase, use Jay Sankey's super-magical and clean-looking Jam Session quickie from his Anytime Anywhere DVD. I also love to use Jay's Heat of the Monet effect from the same DVD. Two very magical phases with just a borrowed pen and a borrowed elastic band.

Because it's their object, they do think it's all you doing the magic. I'm trying to learn how to sleeve pens, so i'll post my results soon.

that would be fun!
hey, can i borrow a pen?
thanks!
*poof*
can i borrow another pen?

anyways, i dont think it really dramatically increases the magic.
i think that if you perform it right, it should seem like all the objects are oridinary objects. Now this comes granted if you borrow something, but i think you can have the same results by simply handing your props out for examination.
But if you are performing casually with something like a pen, it would be just as easy to borrow one so why not do that and skip the examining time?

Sometimes it does. I performed the Invisible Deck at my grandparents' house when a lot of my relatives were there, and the grandparents assumed I was using their deck, so they were even more amazed.
