Jeff Hinchliffe Lecture at Browser's Den!

Hey guys,

thought I would let you know that Jeff H. is going to be lecturing at Browsers Den THIS COMING SUNDAY (the 13th).  He's a GREAT card worker, and is going to have some seriously cool stuff to show, including some killer magician foolers (he's gotten me with a bunch of them in the past... and present.  And probably the future!)

It's like $20, and there's a workshop after which'll cover some great material and will be really hands on.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I have actually never seen Jeff work, but I know Reuben has. How much of the lecture material wil be his own original stuff?
Ben Train

All of it.

Jeff is an unbelievably creative and knowledgeable- puts me and many of my other friends to shame.

He's a 4Fer, a regular invite at the Buffalo 52 get-together (invite only), and a long time instructor at both Browser's Den and Mike's Magic Camp.

Let me put it this way- if you like card magic that'll separate you from the pack, you should be there.

Okay, I'm definetely going to be there. I've seen Jeff before, he's awesome; sometimes I KNOW he's about to palm the card, yet I never catch him. Smooth, smooth.

Can't wait for sunday, I'm need to pick up some supplies anyway! Also, I really hope I see you there again Ben, it'd be nice to talk for a bit.
Ben Train

Looking forward to it man.  And, looking forward to seeing some of your work!
Reuben The Great

My work?

I have the creative mind of a Michael, unfortunately most of the great ideas i come up with have already been done.

Although yes, I have created a couple new effects, and will be willing to show you; one which includes a signature duplication on toilet paper!
Michael Kras

Wish I could make it! Traveling and time constraints prevent me from doing so though.
Liam

i wish i could go...

living on the other side of the country restriants prevent me from doing so though.
Michael Kras

Hey Liam, when you're in town in August, you'll have Eric Mead, Joshua Jay, and Michael Ammar to make up for that.
Liam

if my aunt and uncle let me go
Ben Train

Quick reminder-

The lecture is tomorow at 11am.  There will be a lot of fun stuff shown, and some cool guys there.  I've had a look at some of the material Jeff will be showing and there is some top notch stuff- including the piece that got him into Fechters.

Afterwards they'll be some jamming and people are invited to my place to chill.

Well, I fought for it and ended up going. Despite a disastrous drive up to the shop it was an excellent lecture. He had some brilliant material to show us, one of the standouts being the Pointer Principle and his unforgettable sponge ball routine with a killer climax. At least two routines he showed us will end up in my repertoire for sure.

I'm disappointed I couldn't jam but it's a wonder I was able to go to the lecture anyway. Thanks for convincing me Ben!
Reuben The Great

Great lecture, and great to see you Ben.

How did you like my 19th century Ancient Vienna vest?
LOL I thought it would be good magic attire, at least i think so.

Two things went in to my repetoire, the two cad selections and the deja vu trick. I just really wish I could remember the phases to the oil and water, it was amazing, and i really wanted to use it, but forgot to write it down. :'(
Ben Train

Hey guys,

nice of you to show, and it was a shame you weren't able to jam (we ended up doing so for about 6 more hours!).

I loved Jeff's oil and water handling, and honestly believe it's on of the best version ever devised.  It's available in his notes, along with almost 20 other tricks, for $30.  A great value, in my opinion (I got one yesterday for my collection).

This summer looks like it'll be an incredible one.  Look forward to some fun!

I'm already pumped for Joshua Jay! It's going to be HOT! (stop thinking that)
Reuben The Great

So, anybody going to the Mead lecture?

Ammar?

I'm going to Ammar, Mead (big names supposed to be there) and for sure Joshua Jay's, and the workshop if its alrighty with Ben of course. I mean, it's like having Wayne Gretzky come into a Peewee hockey team for a day, yuo can't miss it!

Also, hope people also join me at browsers on the 26th, gigantic sale there.

www.browsersden.com check out the first ad, its about the sale, and all the details. I will personally be buying my entire year's wishlist Razz.
Michael Kras

Depending on if time permits I will try to make it to Ammar. It's going to be an awesome summer!
Ben Train

Obviously I think if you can only go to one event, it should be the Josh Jay Workshop (which is filling up quickly- so if you two are coming send me a check at the address below).  But, if you can do SEVERAL events you should do Eric AND Mike Ammar.

I'll be at all three.

The fee is $100 for the 4 hour workshop, and if you need a place to crash after my house is open.  Date is Sat August 30th.  See you there!

I will hopefully be able to make it to Joshua Jay, depends on what my parents will allow.
Ben Train

Quick note-

Jeff's oil and water used to have three phases.  While his two phases are unbelievably strong, I feel a third phase is needed.

My suggestion?  Place the cards into the deck, then turn the deck face-up and show everything has separated.

This includes the cards used in the climax, which creates a better flow (I think).
