Fiber OpticsI have recently been working hard on a rope routine using many moves from Richard Sanders' Fiber Optics. I was just wondering... how well does Fiber Optics usually play? I've never performed it live nor have I seen anybody else do so either.
Thank you!

Realistically speaking, any routine can be as good as the magician preforming it. I have on more than one occasion seen magicians that I know preforming effects that I marked down as useless and blow the audience away.
If you are willing to spend the time, you can build a mind blowing routine out of any effect.
Fiber optics on the other hand is a very strong routine. I don't preform it myself, as I do not find it suits my style. But it is extremely visual, and that counts for a lot.
Hope you enjoy it.

All rope magic is difficult to generate the screaming applause that we're so often looking for. Nonetheless, people love Fiber Optics because its just such a wonderful illusion. My personal opinion is that you shouldn't try to fool anyone with it. Present it as an illusion, and let the audience enjoy the illusion. You can have fun with it.
As Liam pointed out, there's a video on my MySpace of my rendition of Fiber Optics from a performing arts center show last September. Feel free to check it out! www.myspace.com/experiencethewonder
