ClimateI stumbled across a newidea and method for an effect by accident the other day. Here is the effect:
The magician displays a bottle of water, and has two spectators help him. He tells them that the water is in fact ice cold, just drawn from the fridge. He asks a spectator to hold out their hand and a tiny bit of water is poured on it. They confirm the temperature is indeed cold. However, you immediately pour the same water on the other spectator's hand and they visibly react to the fact that the water has suddenly become very hot! No switches or anything of the like. You can even do this on a single spectator and with a single continuous pour! They actually feel the water go fromq freezing cold to boiling hot in a split second!
I am still refining and working on it, just want to know what you all think of the idea.
Thank you!

I think the concept is very cool, but finding a situation during which it is permissible to pour liquid on a spectator's hand is not easily imagined.

Of course, that is certainly an issue, but if the spectator gave you permission beforehand, well, need I say more?

hmmmm... u might have a winner here Mike. I suggest you don't place the method anywheres, except for in private e-mails, letters, or vids. Otherwise it could spoil the thing that may get your name out there some day. just a thought.

sounds like a cool effect
you would probably have to do it outside, and bring a towel for the spectator.

Thank you.... I will not publicly release the method at all. I am already talking to magicians privately about handlings, presentation, and *gulp* marketing.

I wouldn't even dream of marketing this until it has been audience tested for at least a year in every different kind of performing scenario. You need to know everything about an effect before releasing it.

I totally agree with Brian, I would say a yr at in the least. Plus, yur only 14. No offense, but I don't think you'll be taken seriously if you release and sell an effect at 14.

I understand.... ergo, the *gulp*.

aw geez, now i'll have to wait to buy it....

LOL.. Well hey, it may never even be released, depending on how R&D goes.

In all seriousness, talk to Steve about it. You might want to use an alias though.

Well, of course. But honestly, I will wait a long time before I try to release anything. And of course, I may use an alias. But you'll never know...

I don't know, the release of an effect just like that through a guy I haven't heard of might be a tip-off.

I guess I'll have to bribe some big names then.

Has Michael Kras really learned his lesson finally? That's the most mature decision I think I've ever heard you make. It's the right decision for you.
