Cards...read!

Okay. Let's assume I'm a highly regarded magician (as we all know I am, haha, seriously. Razz) I mainly perform stage magic in Vegas, or have performed stage throughout my career. And now I'm on your forum. HERE. And, since this is mainly close up magic, I'll say this. Card tricks suck. They're absolute garbage, nobody wants to see them because they're cliche.

PROVIDE YOUR COUNTER ARGUMENT! (this is not really my opinion).

just interested to see the responses.

You d*ckfaced jackoffing cracksmuggling dogsniffing bugeating whore! Cards have a wide range of entertaining possibilities... you can carry hours worth of magic in one small cardboard box! You can do gambling demonstrations, selected card locations, transpositions, transportations, transformations, and soooooo much more. They are a great way to show that you know what you're doing and you mean business. Some of the most devastating effects in close-up magic are effects achieved with a deck of cards!

They are inherently interesting objects and are open to many, many different performance styles and personalities. Cards can also be used for magic virtually anywhere... stage, walkaround, close-up, parlour, the possibilities are endless. They also make for visually eye-catching and colourful magic.

"You're right, cards suck.  I perform sucky magic.  And yet my paycheck is the same as yours.  Even better, my business expenses are $3.  And how much did those huge fancy illusions cost you?  I thought so..."

Nah, I would simply tell him that he's entitled to his opinion, but that he must not have spent enough time with cards to have such an opinion.  I would suggest to him that the mark of a truly great magician lies in his ability to create magic irrespective of the prop(s) involved.  When he agrees, I would ask him to entertain an audience with a deck of cards.

The title of this thread is very misleading.

My aces opened it and found nothing of interest...
