Best Theory11 Product?

After purchasing my first deck of Guardians I think I will now become a loyal Theory 11 customer. However, I would like you to help me figure out which are the best effects to purchase... the strongest, and overall best of the bunch. I would like to start off a new season of walkaround street magic with a BANG!

Which T11 products have you purchased? What do you think of them? Out of Control, Panic, and Digital Dissolve, which is the best?

Thank you!
Liam

when i started magic, i spent a fair bit of money on stuff from there

so i can fully review panic, witness, control, and digital disolve! Very Happy
I'll do 'em in order of wich i bougth them, so
I'm just do the reviews quickly

WITNESS:
This is a pretty hard hitting trick.
And like it says it is very very simple.
But, it isnt very.. examinable.
Yes, at the end of the trick they can see there is only one card in an ordinary ziplock bag, but it is kinda klunky entill then
6/10

PANIC:
A very visual deck vanish
For people under 10!
This trick, if you are going to show it to anyone with an inquisitive nature, is not worth 25 bucks, or even 5.
This trick works very well for children, for they will simply follow were you look and not see anything suspisious.
Unfortunatly, if anyone is looking closely at you hand while you place the kings in your pocket, it doesnt go well.
And also the angles arnt great, and odly enough, lighting really matters.
But i can imagine this working if you are very talented at misderrection, or always have your croud under control.
But i doubt that for walk around.
I would have expected more from Aaron Fisher
3/10

CONTROL:
This is a very nice effect.
I dont think the promo video showed what you can do with it very well.
You can stop you pulse, speed it up, slow it down and basically anything else you can think of.
This gets very good reactions, and as you have expressed intrest in micheal, can be used as a flirting device.
It is ungimmicked and impromtu.
The only downfall is... how to say this without exposure...
If someone is trained to find a pulse, the trick will not work on them.
So it doesnt work on my sister the life gaurd, but it works on most of the people i meet.
8/10

And finally,
DIGITAL DISSOLVE:
This is truely the coin trick for the card guy.
Brilliantly made gimmick.
Very clean, very visual.
And could be used to flirt.
The only problem is... okay never mind, i cant think of it...
I guess some would consider ditching a gimmick a problem, but you have all the misdirrection you need while they open there hand and see it has changed.
9/10

So basically, dont get panic and the rest is up to you. I'm sure you could do well with any of the others. And witness isnt really as bad as i made it out to be... its not that clunky, but... well once again, you just need some control over your audience

Wow! Thank you for the brief reviews... I expected Panic to be a top pick but apparently not Smile. Digital Dissolve it is! Thank you!

Any more T11 thoughts, comments?
Liam

Ya, Panic was quite the let down Sad

And as for theory11, i really enjoy the trilogy that i got from them
Although, i would only advise getting the first disks.
The tricks on it are all really really hard, but the result is a bunch of ungimmicked had hitting and clean effects

Theory 11 is an Ellusionist rip-off.  But that's business, ain't it?

And, a tip of the hat to Ellusionist for the whole "Celebracadabra" thing.  If magic is to even attempt a shot at main stream entertainment (and I personally believe that it will never do such a thing in my lifetime), then it needs to catch up with the times and, unfortunately, "reality" television is "the times."

Remember that Fitzkee guy that I was talking about? (And you can be certain that I'll be  back on that thread soon.) Well, here's a Fitzkee quote for you that seems to back up my point:

"A man who was once called the greatest agent in the show business remarked to me that the customers for a magic show now were only "kids, bohunks and magic nuts." At one time he was the agent for what was then the greatest magic show in existence. I believe this man's judgment is sound.

"But it is obvious that magicians have only themselves to blame. The Thurston show was at one time known as the most valuable property in the show business. No magic show even remotely approaches that status now.

"Obviously, magic itself is not to blame. It attained this distinction once. It attained this distinction when its method of presentation was geared and attuned to the times."

But, Mike, you have your own article that has been published in "The Linking Ring." It's reasonably good stuff. Why use Theory 11 at all?  Why don't you spend your time taking the tools that you already know and creating your own stuff, rather than paying everyone to do it for you?

I agree with Liam: Digital Dissolve is the best buy out of what you named.

I don't own it, but my friend does, and it's jsut so VISUAL! I was amazed when I saw him perform it.

You make an interesting point... I do create a lot of material but there are only a select few effects I regularly use in my work. I like buying new products and discovering new innovations by underground artists. Theory 11 is a little too "kewl" for my taste but some of their products look like innovative stuff. At least they don't sell overpriced rereleases like Ellusionist does.

Overpriced...

Control was 30+ dollars, I believe...

Digital desolve is realy good. I have use it a couple of time. Right now I'm working on bobo on coin magic so I prefer to use non gimiked coin trick.

I bought control too. Never used it. I think that the hype got me trick on this one. It's not my style at all. The dvd is realy entertaining.

Dangerous is just my best buy on the site. Love the trick tought on this one. The trick need presantation so it's a good conpanion to the trilogy. Beacause most of the trickj on the trilogy don't require patter it made a good balance. oh yeah and I love flourish.

I have withness too but I only used it a couple of time. When you know indecent it's kind of useless to use this one. But if you want to routine bouth of these trick together than it create a pawerfull routine.

It's all that I goot fromm them. I won't buy anything for a long time now. I begin to do more Gig and I need to master my craft before move on to other material. Maybe I'll just try to improuve some of these thing later.

I have nothing to contribute to a discussion about Theory 11, but welcome to Magicanada Lamb3rt.  Please feel free to post an introduction for yourself in the Introductions section (where else?).
