Ahh... I Love Summer

Summer means countless amounts of magic spending cash! What new stuff have you ordered recently? How are they?

I have ordered recently (prepared your wide-eyed shock face)"

Totally Out Of Control by Chris Kenner (finally)
Mental Yarn by Bill Goldman
Red Close-Up Pad
Magician Magazine Issue #1
Reel Magic Quarterly #3 (Jay Sankey)
Bicycle Faded Deck
Bicycle Tragic Deck
Tally Ho Circle Backs
Bulldog Squeezers
Steamboats
a Half Dozen Wynns

As you can see, I like trying cards.

Next up on my wishlist:

The Vernon Chronicles
Expert Card Technique
Surfaced by Chad Nelson
BrianMillerMagic

Countless magic spending cash?  Does money just appear under your pillow when summer hits with a note attached, "For magic."?  Boy wouldn't that be nice.  The only thing magic related I've bought this summer are some small dry erase boards to use with a new routine in my stage show.
Liam

my dad gave me my whole summers worth of allowance before the vegas trip, because there is alot of great magic stuff in vegas.

So i got:
The ultimate workers (all four disks)
The royal road to card magic
transformations
beyond deception
NFW
Ultimate 3 card monte
Many packs of complimentary Harrahs decks
CCTT2

And for free at the experience:
STS
Torn Too
Colour Changes
In the beggining there were coins
Money
Oz pearlman lecture notes

i think i one up-ed you mike
BrianMillerMagic

Yeah, that was definitely a one-up.  But to be fair, just the experience alone was about a twelve-up.
Liam

so that totals a 13th up mike.
you're trailing behind
Michael Kras

I'm gonna go buy my own magic theatre at Casino Niagara now, as well as 10 new stage illusions. Take THAT, Liam!  Razz

I also forgot to add 13 Steps to Mentalism, and Zone Zero by Jerry Andrus to the list.

Actually yes. I was able to get Criss Angel's effect The Wish Pillow and that has been awesome. He's real magic, I tells ye!
BrianMillerMagic

Instead of spending money...I've been making hundreds of dollars an hour performing.  Do I number-up anybody for that?
Liam

ya brian, you win...
BrianMillerMagic

I'm going to be spending quite a bit soon actually, so the joke's on me.
Liam

what are you buying?
BrianMillerMagic

A gorgeously custom made ventriloquist puppet.  In a few weeks once I have him/her (haven't quite decided yet) I'll post photos!
Liam

oo!
i love vetriloquism.
Ben Train

I recently returned from Vegas and San Fransisco where I had a blast hanging out with some fun guys.

While I was there I picked up about 50 different books, some of which are pretty obscure (like, Quinns book on cheating- that'll set you back about $200...).

I also received some free crap, like notes, decks, etc.

All in all, I got some crazy stuff.

Ben
p.s.
I spent time hanging with the Bucks, chilled at Chris Kenner's House, and spent 2 straight days with Allan Ackerman and Jason England...  and made money doing it.  Do I get any points?
Michael Kras

Dude, you get 999 points... lose one because Katie doesn't seem to  remember you... only as "the guy with Jason".

I got quite a few packages in the mail today!!!

I got Mental Yarn... verdict: Excellent bang for your buck, a powerful mentalism piece with everything included that can be performed any time, anywhere. 9/10

Bicycle Tragics.... verdict: For serious card guys and collectors only. Look amazing and very creepy but do not handle well... clump right out of the box. 6/10

Close-Up Pad... verdict: Excellent quality, I just plain needed one of these again. 8/10

Wynns... verdict: A beautiful deck of cards, handle brilliant, will become collectors items. 9/10

Still to come: Totally Out Of Control by Chris Kenner, Reel Magic Quarterly 3, Steamboats, Tally Ho's, Bulldog Squeezers, Bicycle Faded, Magician Magazine Issue 1, Zone Zero.

Michael Kras

Oh I already am! I love it, especially the section on Lip, Muscle, Sound, and Pencil Reading!
BrianMillerMagic

That stuff is tricky to use though; make sure you study it enough.  Very cool if you can get it down.
Michael Kras

Of course, I already am working on it, with the help of some trusted confederates.
