Hi there, Lejon! First off, welcome to Magicanada. Great to see more mentalists around.
In Ottawa, there's plenty of MAGIC, however mentalism I'm not sure about. Every year you've got the local Capital Magic Festival which will no doubt feature some big mentalists from the area (James Biss was a featured performer last year).
Hopefully someone else can chime in with more information! _________________ Michael Kras

Oh! I'm from Ottawa!
Like Mike said, there's certainly plenty of magic around here, but not much in the way of mentalism. There is a pretty big scene for hypnotism, though. The Ottawa SuperEx always features at least a few hypnotists (as well as escape artists) and since they started the Capital Magic Festival they've had some mentalists performing as well. Since we have plenty of festivals and local fairs in the summer, there are usually a lot of opportunities to do shows. There's always busking, too - Ottawa has a lot of buskers!
As for bizarre magic, well, there isn't much of a market for that here, or at least not from what I've seen.
