Did you notice how often we magicians get something extra special just for doing what we do?

To us, especially the more experienced, we think of magic so much differently than laypeople do. They think of it as an extraordinary, out of this world skill. For some reason, perks then come into play.

Like today, after my audition for the school's talent show not only did I make it in right then and there, but also get to do magic in between acts as well! Ahh, the perks!

What perks have you received as a magician?

Did you ever consider that I MADE IT IN AS WELL, and that our acts were basically TOGETHER at the audition?

Man, I never get ANY credit around here, YOU get to do magic in between acts-- SO DO I!

Oh Hell!!! SO MANY TO MENTION!!!

Months of free lodging at hotels when performing stage, Free food and drinks at the most exclusive restaurants, women, Freebies, Free entrance to exclusive clubs, invites to prestigious parties, VIP treatment at many places. I have really loved being a magician. I feel guilty at times about having to accept many things, but, there are many times that if you do not accept, you insult the host. So enjoy. It has been well worth the Years of practice, hard living, constant bickering from family, giving up christmas and other holidays with family, etc.

My favorite oerk about knowing magic is getting my friends to bet on a sucker effect that I always win.
