What do you prefer? DVDs for their visual learning? Books for their collectablility and priceless information?
I am a huge fan of books... in fact, in 2007, I went nuts and bought almost 25 books! I love books... there are seriously some real gems to be found in them that all the non-readers are missing out on. The Art Of Astonishment, for example.. to me, the effects in there are pure gold.
Which do you prefer, and why?

Each of the learning formats has a set of pros and cons. The one thing I enjoy about books is that they force you to imagine what the effect really looks like. If you and I each read the same description of an effect, we are likely to come up with two very different versions from the same description. Books inspire much more creativity and individuality in performance than DVDs, which inspire cookie cutter performances. _________________ Click here to check out my brand new Ebooks!

Excellent comparison! Books, for me, do indeed just that... inspire me to perform it and present it in an original manner. Also, I just plain love the things! They look great sitting on my shelf, and whenever I pick one I always find something that I missed, like subtleties, essays, or even more effects! Books also are a perfect source for some real hidden gems that the lazy magician will likely have no knowledge of. These are the perfect "magician foolers". _________________ Michael Kras

well imma have to go against the majority here, and vote dvds.
I guess its because i'm a very visual learner, and oftem when reading a magic book, the effect just isnt explained in a way i understand.
