This is a free set of notes about being a young magician, by one of the best to ever do it: Josh Jay.  There's a lot of great theory, it's well written, and did I mention it's free?

As far as the rest of the site goes, one of the things I love is that the guys in charge stand behind all their products- it is material they are PROUD to use.

I've spent some time with Josh, Caleb, Tony, and Tyler, and on all those occasions I've seen them bust out some of the material offered on their site... and KILL. I know the material works for magicians, but more importantly it works well for laypeople, and it has all been constructed with workers in mind.

I will be purchasing several of the items in the coming weeks, and will post reviews later on this site. Here are some products I've already gotten.

1) Dominatricks. I first met Tyler 3 or 4 years ago, and was blown away by a) the quality and creativity of his work and b) how funny and nice he was. I immediately grabbed a copy of the book, went home and devoured it. B52 Shooter is a legitimately new presentation and method for triumph that will knock people's socks off. The post-it note mentalism is a great piece of magic, as is the 5 second rule transposition and the ambitious card routine (especially the theory behind its construction). Besides being chocked full of great material, the book is also super funny- I couldn't stop laughing while reading it. Highly recommended.

2) High Spots by Caleb Wiles. I recently saw Caleb slay a room full of some of the top magicians in the world (think Bill Malone, Paul Cummins, me... ahem...cough cough) with the material from this book. Reswindled, his version of Reset, is killer, and Paul Harris himself says it is now his favorite version. 26! might be one of the strongest tricks I've learnt in the past year. The semi-automatic test of luck is virtually a self worker in the same vain as Chad Long's shuffle lesson, but with a very different structure (and I loved it enough that when I saw it on youtube 2 years ago I contacted Caleb and begged to be able to use it!). This book is SERIOUSLY under priced at $20- so don't get it in protest: tell Josh to raise the price to $40.

3) Josh's material. Josh is the real deal. His Talk about Tricks set is superb, and his Close-up Up-close set was my DVD set of the year a little while ago (and I still return to it all the time). I just got his book for the layfolk, and it's PACKED with great ideas and presentations- plus clever and direct handlings for material I already do. Check it all out.

Alright, that's it for now. I should mention at this point I am not affiliated with the site in any way, I just really like the material.

Stay classy ladies.
Ben

Don't make the mistake of missing out on some of the other stuff- especially from some of the guys you haven't heard of yet.
