The season where a lot of performers will be getting out and performing outdoors. It's always a lot of fun, and almost amazing how many complete strangers ask me about "the things I'm doing with my cards"... heck, that even happened at a movie theatre and a ticket-taker took a 5 minute break to watch me perform!
Anyways, do any of you ever perform "out on the streets"? What is your material of choice?

Most of my material was designed to be done for this type of work, so I'm pretty much set.
One thing I HAVE been doing a lot though is something with a thumb tip, which I'll be tipping fairly soon.

Two of the things you showed us at "Making Magic", Ben, I've been doing a lot to amazing response. Conditions are so fair for both (Dada, TriRoden) and it gets such an amazing response. Plus, both can be done without a table which is perfect.
I also use many other effects... I always use Vernon's Fingerprint Card Trick in a set, as well as some sort of Triumph effect (either a method by Paul Harris, John Carney...) and I'll be darned if I don't do something that involves a selection shooting out of the deck .
Other than that, I have enough gimmicked effects to take down the US Army. I'm set . _________________ Michael Kras

Never underestimate the Chopstick Deck, that thing is a serious worker's piece. David Blaine couldn't afford the rights to this effect for his latest special, let's just put it that way. _________________ Michael Kras

Seriously, get a chopstick deck everyone.
You don't even have to be Asian, but it helps so I've been told.
