I tried to disable my account today but the fields for the email address and bot security thing don't allow you to actually enter any information!
How can I disable my account?

Mr Dickson,
I don't know why you would post this publicly instead of messaging the forum administrator (me), but I can gladly disable your account for you... but my question: why do you want it disabled? I take your reasons as building blocks to help improve Magicanada as a forum. I also consider you a valuable asset to the forums and hope that we can reevaluate the forums and possibly help you reconsider your decision.
Thank you,

Michael,
Well, to be blunt, I don't like the forum. There are a number of factors involved.
I don't really like the look of the forum, it's just not to my tastes. I don't like the fact that I get sent emails from the forum.
It doesn't really seem that there is anyone here who is interested in what I'm interested in: stage mentalism. While I have performed close up magic in the past I'm not interested in pursuing that path. I'm not an expert in the field of mentalism so I don't feel qualified to give others advice, and it doesn't seem as if there are others on this forum with the experience to be able to give me advice I can use.
Another issue is the age of the majority of posters. You're all pretty young, I'm approaching 40. The quality (noun rather than adjective) of communication is different among young people.
The above should not be taken as criticisms. After all likes and dislikes are purely subjective. I'm not saying that the forum is bad, just that it is not really to my tastes.
As to why I made this public rather than private? Well, you have yourself to blame for that. If the account disabling function actually worked I would have disabled my account and quietly gone on my way. What is the point of having a link in an email to disable my account if you can't actually do that? I suppose I wanted to shame you into doing something about it. Either it was an oversight, which you need to correct, or it is intentional so that people have to talk to you about disabling their account, which is just not appropriate really. I should not have to explain my reasons to you and I mildly resent being put in a position where I have to, either privately or publicly.
Again, I would like to point out, I'm not saying the forum is a bad one. The people who post regularly seem to enjoy it, I'm sure it works for them. It just doesn't suit me.
All the best

Understood, although I do not appreciate the accusations that I am behind not letting you disable your account. That is something the forum does on its own and, since nobody has tried it yet until you, I didn't know this was the case.
You will be missed... see you around TalkMagic.
