What are your views, thoughts on Derren Brown? I personally think he is a very sophisticated performer with a ton of class and some of the finest and most entertaining magic and mentalism out there.

Please, let's here your thoughts! Also, I have a video of his one-man show Something Wicked This Way Comes that I will be posting soon.

I personally believe that Derren is the most engaging personality in magic today. As a sleight of hand artist he is one of the top in the world, and as a mentalist he is one of the names pioneering this new age of mentalism through the use of psychology. He presents magic/mentalism in an intellectual manner that I believe is gaining respect even here in the US where the general public is used to fast, visual magic. If you haven't read Pure Effect and you actual care about the way in which you present mentalism, then what are you waiting for? Get on Ebay and pick up a copy. It is worth whatever you have to pay for it. I sincerely believe that Derren is the best thing to happen to our art in a long time, and the bar has been raised in terms of both presentations and methods. Let us in the US cross our fingers for a tour of his live show sometime in the next year or two.

Seriously if anyone hasn't watched Something Wicked This Way Comes, click on the link Michael posted and set aside an hour to watch the whole thing straight through. I've been obsessing over this show since the video showed up on google a few months ago. If you'd like to see what it means to be a master showman, you have got to watch it.
